Walking with my mother, in the streets of Tehran, after a year and a half, Im
looking at the street, city walls and people. I say: I can't believe that I am here
again and walking with you in the streets. As if I have always been here.
My mother responds with: Well, if you feel that you have always been here, you
should believe that you are here now too. Maybe you have never believed that
you have left.
I am thinking. How much of my feelings, memories and these steps are real. How
many of them are reveries? Which ones have I cleansed, which ones are made
up by my mind while being migrated? Which voices am I really hearing and which
ones have I heard from social media? The faces of the pedestrians are familiar.
Is this the same person that I have seen among many others in the videos of the
street demonstrations of the Jina-Mahsa uprising?
“ What I saw, What I remembered ” is a result of the development contribution of Amarte Fund. This video is a journey between reality and delusions. Between realities and dreams. It’s fluid just like memory.
